Therapy for Neurodivergent Adults
For late-diagnosed and self-identified adults whose competence is intact while the private cost keeps rising.
You built a career on pattern recognition, precision, and outworking everyone around you. Then the diagnosis — or the suspicion — arrived, and suddenly forty years of friction made sense.
Many of the adults who find Michel received an autism or ADHD diagnosis in their 30s, 40s, or 50s — or recognized themselves in a description long before any clinician confirmed it. For most, the recognition was clarifying rather than devastating. The harder part comes after: what do you actually do with it?
This work is not about learning to seem more neurotypical. It is about ending the exhausting project of masking, understanding how your specific mind actually operates, and building a professional and relational life designed around that reality instead of against it.
Michel works with autistic adults, ADHD adults, and the substantial overlap between the two — including gifted adults whose intelligence hid their struggle for decades. The work draws on DBT, logotherapy, developmental psychology, and nutritional science, delivered directly and without generic therapy scripts.

What the work looks like
The entry point is always a guaranteed early win: one small, certain change that builds trust before ambition. From there the work moves into what actually needs to move — masking collapse, executive function, sensory load, the relationships that demand a version of you that does not exist.
Sessions are precise and direct. If you have little patience for being talked at, that is a fit, not a problem.

What does autism or ADHD look like in high-achieving adults?
Often it looks like success with a hidden invoice: strong output at work paired with depleted evenings, precise self-awareness with stalled follow-through, and relationships strained by masking. Many high-achieving adults are diagnosed late precisely because competence concealed the cost.
Do I need a formal diagnosis to start therapy?
No. Michel works with formally diagnosed and self-identified adults alike. The work targets how your mind actually functions and what it costs you — not the paperwork. If a formal assessment would help, he can discuss referral options in the consultation.
I was just diagnosed in my 40s. Is therapy still worth it?
Late diagnosis is the most common starting point in this practice. Most clients describe the diagnosis as clarifying — the therapy is where that clarity converts into a differently designed work life, relationships, and daily structure.
Where do you see neurodivergent adult clients?
In person in the Solana Beach and San Diego County area, by secure video anywhere in California, and by telehealth only for clients in Georgia.
