Two doors. You’ll know which one.

Therapy restores function. Coaching designs freedom. The consultation helps you choose the door that fits right now.

Most people arrive asking the wrong first question: “Do I need therapy or coaching?” The better question is, “What kind of work is my life asking for right now?”

Therapy is the door when something has stopped working. It is for acute dysfunction, clinical significance, burnout, anxiety, identity disruption, depression, masking collapse, relational strain, and the places where your system needs containment before it can design anything new. Therapy restores function, increases truth, and helps you understand the pattern without being swallowed by it.

You know how to function. That was proven to never be the central concern.

Coaching is the door when the insight has been internalized and the person is ready to build deliberately. The identity is internalized, welcomed, nurtured, in the flow of who you are. The nervous system has enough access to choice. You are ready to design intentionally: work, leadership, meaning, visibility, relationships, creative life, money, structure, freedom.

The coaching work is not advice from the sidelines. It is direct partnership for the moment when you can stop asking, “What is wrong with me?” and start asking, “What am I building, and what kind of person does that require me to become?”

Migration from therapy to coaching is not a departure. It is often a sign of success. The work begins with restoration and moves toward authorship when the person is ready.

Some clients begin in therapy and later move into coaching. Some arrive already clear that coaching is the right door. Some are unsure. That uncertainty is not a problem to solve alone. It is exactly what the consultation is for.

The point is to enter through the door that fits the current threshold, then let the work evolve honestly.

Therapy

For acute dysfunction, clinical frameworks, nervous-system stabilization, and function restoration.

  • You are burned out, anxious, shut down, or no longer functioning as expected.
  • You need clinical containment, not motivational language.
  • Your body is telling the truth before your calendar does.
  • The first task is restoration.

Coaching

For clients ready to build from identity, freedom, authorship, and intentional design.

  • You are stable enough to choose, but tired of inherited structures.
  • You know the pattern and want to design what comes next.
  • You need direct thought partnership, structure, and consequence.
  • The first task is authorship.

If you are not sure which door is yours, that is useful information.
